EDI 810 Invoice

This is the digital version of a bill. The seller sends it to the buyer to request payment for products or services provided. It includes details like item descriptions, quantities, prices, and payment terms.

EDI 820 Payment Order/Remittance Advice

This is a digital payment notification. The buyer sends it to the seller to inform them that payment has been made. It includes payment details, like the amount and which invoices are being paid.

EDI 846 Inventory Inquiry/Advice

This message provides information about product availability. Suppliers use it to tell buyers what they have in stock, or buyers use it to check inventory levels.

EDI 850 Purchase Order

This is a digital order form that a buyer sends to a seller to request products or services. It includes details like what’s being ordered, how much, and when it should be delivered.

EDI 855 Purchase Order Acknowledgment

This is a confirmation message from the seller back to the buyer saying, “We got your order!” It lets the buyer know if the order will be fulfilled exactly as requested or if there will be any changes.

EDI 856 Ship Notice/Manifest

Also called an Advance Ship Notice (ASN), this is a heads-up from the seller to the buyer that a shipment is on its way. It provides information about what’s being shipped, how it’s packed, and how it’s being transported.
